The Lotus Flower is represented in many Eastern cultures and philosophies. It grows in deep muddy water, and when in full bloom is a beautiful flower. At night, the flower closes and sinks underwater. At dawn, it rises and opens again.

In Yoga, the lotus pose is the most renowned of all Hatha Yoga postures. It is the optimum position for meditation. It is a symbol of purity and divinity.

In Reiki, the lotus flower is symbolic of enlightenment, transformation and healing.

The Chakras (energy centres in the body) are depicted by the Lotus flower. When the chakras are balanced, we are healthy and well. Both Yoga and Reiki, support the journey to health and well being on a physical and spiritual level.
